What do you think of the following?

this is going to sound insane but I need someone to just think it through with me instead of telling me I'm crazy

I've been sick for about three years. Started with what everyone called long covid, then it became "chronic fatigue," then when I pushed for more testing it became "well, your ANA is positive but that doesn't mean much." I've seen eleven doctors. I have a folder — an actual physical folder — of test results, and I've read every single page of it multiple times.

Here's the thing. About four months ago I started noticing that my symptoms follow a pattern that nobody has looked at. My crashes happen 36-48 hours after specific exposures, and I've tracked it. I have a spreadsheet with 400+ days of data. Temperature, sleep, food, activity, symptom scores, menstrual cycle, barometric pressure, everything. And there's a signal in there. There's a real signal.

Three weeks ago I found a paper from 2019, a small Japanese study, n=34, on mast cell activation and a specific complement pathway. And when I mapped their proposed mechanism onto my data it fit. Not loosely. It fit. The 36-hour lag is exactly what their model predicts for the secondary cascade.

I brought it to my rheumatologist and she did the thing where her face changes. She said "I think you might be spending too much time on this" and suggested I see someone for health anxiety. And I get it, I get why she said that, I've read about people who go down these rabbit holes.

But here's what I can't get past: I'm right about the pattern. The data is real. I collected it carefully. I'm not making up the correlation, and I'm not saying I have a rare disease because I want to be special. I'm saying I have 400 days of data showing a reproducible lag structure that matches a published mechanism, and the response was to suggest I'm anxious.

So what I want to know is: am I the person in the story who was right and nobody listened, or am I the person in the story who thinks they're that person? Because from the inside those feel identical. And if there's a way to tell the difference, I need to know what it is.
